Tom Taylor was born in Dortmund, Germany and moved to Canada at a very young age. He lived in Northern B.C. for 14 years where his interest and aptitude for art became recognized. Tom and family moved to Vancouver in 1973 where Tom graduated in the Graphic Arts program at Langara College. He soon after attended BCIT in the Building Technology program and graduated with an Architectural Design major.
After his schooling, Tom worked for an Architectural and Engineering firm preparing presentation drawings and concept drawings and later managing many major projects throughout the lower mainland. While pursuing his business career, Tom quietly continued his painting and drawing at home and mostly gave his completed works to family and friends.
Tom now dedicates the majority of his time to painting and drawing. He works mainly in acrylics and water colour as well as pencil. Tom has won several awards for his art as well as juried selections in B.C. arts competitions.
